Les Jamelles

The estate

Catherine and Laurent Delaunay, two young oenologists from Burgundy wine families, headed south to the Languedoc in the early 1990s — a region then reinventing itself. In 1995 they launched Les Jamelles, a range built around single grape varieties rather than the terroir-first approach that had long defined French wine.

The Delaunays still own and run the business from a converted former wine cooperative in Monze, in the Corbières hills, alongside a vineyard on the gravelly plain of Ouveillan near Narbonne.

Les Jamelles wines are labelled by grape rather than by place — Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah sit alongside a Cépage Rare collection built on less familiar varieties such as Carignan and Marsanne.
