The estate

The Boscaini family's first recorded harvest in the Vaio dei Masi valley, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica, dates to 1772 — the vineyard that gave the winery its name.

The estate has stayed in Boscaini hands ever since. Sandro Boscaini, the sixth generation, built Masi into one of the best-known names in Amarone, and the winery is now run alongside seventh-generation family members on the steep, historic ground of Valpolicella Classica.

Masi is closely associated with appassimento, the technique of drying harvested grapes before fermentation — a method with roots in Roman-era winemaking that the family has refined through its own technical research over decades.
