The estate

A group of growers around Appiano joined forces in 1907 to found a shared cellar, pooling their grapes to raise quality beyond what any one small holding could achieve alone.

The cooperative has grown to some 320 member families farming the slopes above Appiano, at the base of the Dolomites, and remains one of Alto Adige's largest and best-regarded producers.

Winemaker Hans Terzer has led production since the late 1970s, and the cellar's top wines — released under the Sanct Valentin label — are built around the white varieties this part of Alto Adige is best suited to.
