Zarephath

The estate

The Zarephath vineyard sits on the eastern flank of the Porongurup Range, an ancient granite outcrop in WA's Great Southern — one of the coolest, latest-ripening pockets in the state, and prized for it.

For decades the site was tended by the Brothers and Sisters of the Christ Circle, a small Benedictine community who planted and farmed the land themselves. In 2014 the vineyard passed to Rosie Singer and Ian Barrett-Lennard, who now work it full-time.

Trophy-winning Riesling and Pinot Noir remain the estate's calling cards — taut, mineral wines that reward patience, made from fruit grown on some of the oldest granite soils in the region.
